Background on the Power App Need

Our client came to us in order to build an app in their M365 environment to integrate barcode generation for their large inventories. The solution needed was comprehensive and flexible in order to generate and distribute these QR / barcodes efficiently and accurately.

Challenge of Building this Custom Power App

The Solution:

The application delivered is a very user friendly dashboard that provides a quick overview of inventory & status. Key functionality includes:

  • Dynamic Filtering, Sorting and Search Capabilities – Users can filter inventory by product listing or category among a number of other methods. The system also supports searching through extensive product categories, with easy-to-view pagination in order to navigate through different inventory pages.
  • Permission-Based Inventory Management – Users can access inventory and manually create additions, edit, delete and admins can restrict based on permissions set. This ensures that only authorized users can perform specific functions and operations.
  • Bardcode Generation and Distribution – One can select multiple items for barcode generation for up to 40 items simultaneously. The generated codes can be emailed, printed from the app, or downloaded for offline use.

How we Implemented this Power App

The app was promoted to production from the client’s dev environment and now is able to administrate it in-house.
